Definition
The gastric surface is the cranial part of the visceral surface of the spleen, in contact with the dorsal part of the stomach. The hilum of the spleen, the attachment point of the gastro-splenic ligament, and the insertion point of the splenic artery and vein are located on the gastric surface.
It is one of the three regions of the visceral surface of the spleen, along with the renal surface and the intestinal surface.
