Lateral ridge of trochlea of femur

Crista lateralis trochlea ossis femoris

Definition

The femoral trochlea is composed by a median groove bounded by a medial and a lateral ridges.

In dogs, proximally, the limiting ridges diverge slightly and the medial ridge is somewhat thicker than the lateral one.

Note that the terms” median groove”, and “medial and lateral ridges” are not listed in the VIth NAV.
