Definition

Stephan Mahler

The medial bi-ischiatic line is a pelvic landmark used to assess the anatomy of the pelvic area, particularly in the context of obstructive dystocia and constipation. It is determined from a ventrodorsal radiograph or multiplanar reconstructed CT images of the pelvis.

The medial bi-ischiatic line has been used to ensure that a horizontal line was found when measuring the transverse diameter.

The medial bi-ischiatic line is the line between the caudomedial angles of the ischiatic tables.
