Medial mobile part [Medial heel]

Pars mobilis medialis

Definition

Estelle Demange

The medial mobile part is the lateral (outer) heel region of the hoof/claw wall, located at the palmar/plantar part of the wall, behind the medial quarter.

It is termed “mobile” because the heel region of the wall is designed to deform and expand slightly during weight bearing, contributing to the hoof’s normal mechanical function.
