Pupil
Pupilla
Definition
The pupil is the hole in the center of the iris, delimited by the pupillary margin. The pupil can dilate or shrink, in to regulate the amount of light entering the eye, thanks to the antagonistic action of the sphincter pupillae and dilator pupillae muscles. The anterior and posterior chambers communicate through the pupil.
