Radius
Radius
Definition
The radius is the primary weight-bearing bone of the forearm. It articulates proximally with the humerus and distally with the carpal bone. It runs parallel to the ulna, and its morphology varies greatly among mammalian species according to their locomotor specialization.
In some mammals, such as the horse, it is fused with the ulna.
