Definition
The head of the radius is located at the proximal extremity of the bone. It is transversely widened to present the articular fovea of radial head .
Variation:
In ungulates, the radial head articulates alone with the humerus to form the elbow joint.
In carnivores, the radius is complemented medially by the ulna.
