Zygomatic branch

Ramus zygomaticus

Definition

Marjorie Champarou

The zygomatic branch, divisions of the auriculopalpebral nerve with the rostral auricular branches, is much longer than the latter.

It runs rostro-dorsally from the zygomatic arch to the deep surface of the nasolabial elevator muscle, passing dorsally to the orbit and lateral to the root of the nose.

It distributes, through collateral branches, the frontoscutular and frontal muscles, before giving rise to the palpebral branches.
