Antoine Micheau

The perineal fascia (superficial investing fascia; Gallaudet's fascia) is very thick, areolar in texture, and contains much fat in its meshes. It is attached laterally to the ischiopubic rami and invests the inferior surface of ischiocavernosus, bulbospongiosus, and superficial transverse perineal muscles.

It is continuous with the deep fascia covering the external oblique muscle and rectus sheath.
