Presacral fascia

Fascia presacralis

  • Latin synonym: Fascia praesacralis

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The presacral fascia is a layer of connective tissue located in the pelvic region anterior to the sacrum and is a part of the parietal pelvic fascia.

It covers the anterior aspect of the sacrum and the median sacral blood vessels and forms a complex anatomical structure with the mesorectal fascia (perirectal fascia) and the rectosacral fascia. Theses fasciae define the presacral space
