Caudal palatine foramen

Foramen palatinum caudale

Definition

Mayla Alcobaça, Andréa lopes da Costa

The caudal palatine foramen is an opening located in the rostral part of the pterygopalatine fossa. It is situated ventral to the sphenopalatine foramen, both of which are closely related and similar in size. The greater palatine artery, vein, and nerve pass through the caudal palatine foramen, enter the palatine canal, and together proceed to the hard palate.
