Palatum osseum
Definition
The bony palate is a flat bony plate, narrow rostrally and wide caudally. It is formed by the horizontal parts of the palatine bones, maxillae, and incisive bones.
At its caudal end are the choanae, where the vomer articulates with the palatine bones.
