Bones of the cranium
Ossa cranii
Definition
The bones of the cranium are all the bones that make up the first subdivision of the head: the cranium. They are joined together by cranial sutures, thus defining the boundaries of the cranial cavity.
They are:
the occipital bone
the presphenoid bone
the pterygoid bone
the temporal bone
the parietal bone
the frontal bone
the ethmoid bone
the vomer
