Extremitas cranialis [Caput vertebrae]

The cranial extremity or the vertebral head is the part of the vertebral body on which the intervertebral discs attach to, with the caudal extremity. Together, they allow the union of the vertebral bodies to each other.

This extremity is more or less convex depending on the region.
