Definition
In horses, the articular cavity of the proximal interphalangeal joint presents four recesses :
- A dorsal recess
- A palmar recess
- Two distodorsocollateral recesses: the lateral recess and the medial recess (These recesses are not officially listed in the NAV but used by authors like JM Denoix).
