Ethmoidal fossae
Fossae ethmoidales
Definition
Located in the anterior cerebral fossa, in front of the jugum sphenoidal, the two ethmoidal fossae are separated on the median plane by the crista galli of the ethmoid bone.
Each ethmoidal fossa corresponds to the riddled blade (Lamina cribrosa) of the ethmoid bone.
It is limited by a more or less prominent crest on its rostral and lateral border; on which ends the ethmoidal foramen (Foramen ethmoidale), often double in Dogs and Men.
