Joint capsule; Articular capsule

The joints of articular processes (zygapophyseal joints) are located between the cranial and caudal articular facets of contiguous vertebrae. They are synovial joints with an articular capsule, visible in cervical, thoracic, lumbar vertebrae and between the last lumbar vertebra and the sacrum.
