Lumbosacral joint
Articulatio lumbosacralis
Definition
The lumbosacral joint is formed by the last lumbar vertebra and the sacrum complemented by the intervertebral disc and supported by the iliolumbar ligament.
Note from author: it is not clear if the lumbosacral joint only composed by the intervertebral symhysis between vertebral body of last lumbar vertebra and first sacral vertebral, or if the joints of articular process are also included (and so calling a joint should be a misnomer...)
