Lacrimal canaliculus
Canaliculus lacrimalis
Definition
The lacrimal canaliculi are two short ducts that open at the lacrimal punctum and then run towards the medial angle of the eye through the eyelids to join. At the point where they join, the lacrimal sac is formed, leading to the nasolacrimal duct. They represent the first part of the ducts that excrete tears from the eye into the nasal cavity.
