Lacrimal sac

Saccus lacrimalis

Definition

Felipe Barona Lopez

The lacrimal sac is a protrusion at the superior end of the nasolacrimal duct, where the two lacrimal canaliculus meet. It is located in the fossa for lacrimal sac, a depression in the lacrimal bone.

The lacrimal fluid is brought there by the lacrimal canaliculus and then flows down the nasolacrimal duct.
