Ligamentum plantare longum
Definition
The long plantar ligament is a very strong, flat band on the plantar aspect of the hock, extending between the distal calcaneus in carnivores or the tuber calcanei in the other domestic species and the central and fourth tarsal bones and the proximal en of the third and fourth metatarsal bones.
