Plantar calcaneoquartal [Calcaneocuboid] ligament
Ligamentum calcaneoquartale [calcaneocuboideum] plantare
Definition
The plantar calcaneoquartal [Calcaneocuboid] ligament is between the calcaneus and fourth tarsal bone (T4).
For dogs, it is simply termed "calcaneoquartal ligament" in the Miller, and described as a conspicuous band that leaves the plantarolateral surface of the calcaneus, blends with the long lateral collateral ligament and is attached to the fourth tarsal and the base of metatarsal V.
