Medial condyle

There are two condyles, medial and lateral,  on the proximal extremity of the tibia: the articular surfaces of these medial and lateral condyles articulate with with the corresponding femoral condyles and meniscus.

The tibial condyles are separated on there articular surface by the intercondylar eminence and caudally by the popliteal notch.

On the lateral aspect of the lateral condyle of tibia is the fibular articular facet (excepted in ruminants where the remnants of fibula is fused with this surface) for the articulation with the head of fibula.
