Musculus obliquus auriculae

The obliquus auriculae muscle is located on the outer surface of concha. Sometimes associated with the transversus auriculae muscle, it is then qualified as a vertical muscle of the auricle and corresponds to a few bundles spread out on the back of the auricle.

Origin: back of cartilage of acoustic meatus

Insertion: back of auricular cartilage

Artery:  deep auricular artery (or more generally caudal auricular artery)

Nerve: caudal auricular nerve

Action: changes the shape of the cartilage of auricle
