Musculus transversus auriculae

The transversus auriculae muscle is located on the outer surface of concha. It is sometimes associated with the oblique muscle of auricle, it is then named a vertical muscle of the auricle and represents a few bundles spread out on the back of the auricle.

Origin: back of cartilage of acoustic meatus

Insertion: back of auricular cartilage

Artery: deep auricular artery

Nerve: caudal auricular nerve

Action:  changes the shape of the cartilage of auricle
