Helicis muscle
Musculus helicis
Definition
The helicis muscle is located on the tragic border of the auricular cartilage. It shares some fibers with the neighboring part of the parotidoauricularis muscle.
Origin: tragic border
Insertion: near the pretragic notch
Artery: rostral auricular artery
Nerve: auriculopalpebral nerve
Action: it tightens, by contracting, the tube formed by the annular cartilage
