Retropharyngeal lymph center

Lymphocentrum retropharyngeum

Definition

Marjorie Champarou

The retropharyngeal lymph center is located in the retromandibularis fossa. It has two main groups of lymph nodes: the medial and lateral retropharyngeal lymph nodes. In the bovine, the hyoid lymph nodes are added, isolated and inconstant.

This lymph center drains the deep structures of the head, including nasal structures, larynx and pharynx.
