Definition

The aortic valve annulus is the ring of attachment of the three aortic cusps. The annulus is usually ovoid rather than round, and reporting both short-axis and long-axis dimensions obtained on double oblique images may be necessary

Normative reference value of aortic valve annulus: 20-31 mm (13±1mm/m²)
