Definition
The arch of azygos vein (azygous arch) is the final curving segment of the azygos vein that ascends in an anterior right paravertebral location to the level of T5-T6, and then arches to the right and then anterior over the right main bronchus and the root of the right lung, to drain into the superior vena cava, just cranial to the caval investment by pericardium.
