The fascia of an individual muscle is the fibrous sheath that closely surrounds a single muscle, anchoring it to neighbouring structures. It blends with the epimysium (the outer connective tissue covering of the muscle) and helps transmit contractile force, reduce friction, and allow gliding during movement.
