Left interlobar artery

Arteria interlobaris sinistra

  • Synonym: Left descending artery; Inferior trunk

Definition

The left interlobar artery is the part of the inferior lobar artery of left lung that arises from the LPA after the origin of the branches for upper lobes and gives branches for the lingula and the superior segment of inferior left lobe (becoming the basal trunk, or basal part of inferior lobar artery of left lung).

 

Branches:

  • Inferior lingular artery of left lung (A4)

  • Superior lingular artery of left lung (A5)

  • Superior segmental artery of left lung (A6)
