Superior lobar artery of left lung

Arteria lobaris superior pulmonis sinistri

Definition

From the left pulmonar artery, there is no well-defined superior lobar artery of left lung as the left truncus anterior, and there tend to be more separate branches scattered along the course of the left pulmonary artery than there are along the course of the right pulmonary artery.

 

Branches of superior lobar artery of left lung (often separate origin from the LPA):

  • Apical segmental artery of left lung (A1)

  • Anterior segmental artery of left lung (A2)

  • Posterior segmental artery of left lung (A3)
