Lingular artery of left lung

Arteria lingularis pulmonis sinistri

Definition

The lingular arteries (superior lingular, A4; inferior lingular, A5) arise from the anterior aspect of the left interlobar artery in approximately 90% of individuals. They may arise as a single trunk (termed lingular artery of left lung) or as two separate arteries from the anterior part of the mediastinal part of the left pulmonary artery.

 

Branches of lingular artery of left lung are:

  • Inferior lingular artery of left lung (A4)

  • Superior lingular artery of left lung (A5)
