Definition

Antoine Micheau & Muhammad A. Javaid

The superficial part of anterior compartment of forearm houses several muscles, primarily including the pronator teres, flexor carpi radialis, palmaris longus, and flexor carpi ulnaris. These muscles, which form the most superficial layer of this compartment, typically share a common origin from the medial epicondyle of the humerus via the common flexor tendon.

Another muscle called the flexor digitorum superficialis, which constitutes an intermediate muscular layer, is located just underneath the above-mentioned superficial muscles.
