Superior muscular branches of popliteal artery

The superior muscular branches of the popliteal artery supply the harmstring and anastamose with the deep femoral and gluteal arteries of the thigh.

There are also several inferio muscular branches of the popliteal artery, for gastrocnemius, soleus and plantaris muscles.
