Basilar sinus

Sinus basilaris

Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The basilar sinus is a paired dural venous sinus located in the caudal part of the cranial cavity. In the dog, it continues caudally from the sigmoid sinus after its junction with the ventral petrosal sinus. The right and left basilar sinuses are usually connected by an interbasilar sinus near the rostral margin of the foramen magnum.
