Ossa cordis

Definition
In ruminants, the fibrous trigones are early invaded by ossification and gives rise to two heart bones (ossa cordis), one of which, the main one, occupies most of the right trigone, and the other, accessory (absent in the sheep and the goat), the left trigone.
