Definition

The cleidobrachial muscle is the distal part of the brachiocephalic muscle from the clavicular intersection (vestigial clavicle) to the cranial humeral crest. This part is considered as the "clavicular part of the deltoid muscle", but included into the brachiocephalic muscle because of the lack of clavicle in domestic animals.

Origin: humeral crest on distal end of the cranial surface of the humerus.

Insertion: clavicular tendon/clavicular intersection/vestigial clavicle

Action: draw the limb cranially and, acting bilaterally, to fix the neck

Nerve: rami ventrales of nervi cervicales VII and VII
