Muscles of pelvic limb

Musculi membri pelvini

Definition

Marjorie Champarou

The muscles of the pelvic limb are a group of skeletal muscles responsible for locomotion, maintenance of posture, and stabilization of the joints in domestic animals.

They are divided into extrinsic muscles (connecting the limb to the trunk) and intrinsic muscles (specific to the limb), and are organized according to anatomical regions (hip, thigh, leg, and foot).
