Fascia lata

Fascia lata

Definition

Felipe Barona Lopez

The fascia lata is the fascia layer that covers the lateral part of the thigh. It is continuous with the gluteal fascia, the femoral lamina, and the crural fascia. The biceps femoris muscle and tensor fascia lata muscle attach directly to it. It is divided into two layers, a superficial layer and a deep layer, which overlap and are separated by connective tissue.
