Fibularis brevis muscle

Musculus fibularis [peron(a)eus] brevis

Definition

Origin: Lateral surface of the distal two thirds of the fibula and tibia, almost as far as the lateral malleolus.

Insertion: Proximal end of metatarsal 5.

Action: Flexion of the tarsal joint.

Nerve: Peroneus profundus.
