Musculus pectineus

  • Synonym: Pectineal muscle

Definition

Origin: It arises tendinously on the prepubic tendon and from the abdominal muscles that join this tendon, it also has a fleshy origin on the iliopubic eminence and cartilage.

Insertion: Raised ridge of the medial femoral condyle and popliteal surface of the femur medial to the surface of the insertion of the adductor magnus

Action: Adduction of the thigh.

Nerve: Obturatorius.
