Paleopallium [Palaeo-]
Definition
The paleopallium (or paleocortex) is a subdivision of the cerebral cortex (pallium) characterized by a three-layered histological structure.
It is located mainly in the rhinencephalon and is associated with olfaction and certain functions of the limbic system.
