Limen pharyngoesophageum [-oesophageum]

The pharyngoesophageal limen is the junction between the pharynx and the oesophagus. In the dog, it is clearly marked by an annular ridge of tissue corresponding to a glandular thickening. In the cat, the pharyngoesophageal limen is formed by a circular fold.
