Rib - 6

Costa - VI

Definition

Anne-Sophie Emeric

The sixth rib is longer and more oblique than the preceding ones. It articulates dorsally with the sixth thoracic vertebra and ventrally with the sternum through its costal cartilage. Its curvature is pronounced and contributes to the widening of the thoracic cage in the mid-thoracic region.
