Rib - 8

Costa - VIII

Definition

Anne-Sophie Emeric

The eighth rib is shorter and slightly more oblique than the preceding ones. It articulates dorsally with the eighth thoracic vertebra and ventrally with the sternum through its costal cartilage. Its curvature contributes to the middle and caudal portions of the thoracic cage.
