Organum subcommissurale
Definition
The subcommissural organ is a structure of the diencephalon located ventral to the caudal commissure, composed of thickened, secretory ependyma.
It is part of the circumventricular organs, where the blood-brain barrier is reduced, allowing sensory and secretory functions.
