Bursa calcanea subtendinea musculus flexoris digitorum superficialis
Definition
The subtendinous calcaneal bursa of the flexor digitorum superficialis muscle is located between the distal tendon of the flexor digitorum [digitalis] superficialis muscle and the tendon of the gastrocnemius muscle, as well as the calcaneal tuberosity.
In equines, it is often fused with the bursa of calcaneal tendon.
