Definition
The anterior interventricular vein is a cardiac vein that ascends in the anterior interventricular sulcus (the groove between the left and right ventricles on the anterior surface of the heart), running parallel to the anterior interventricular artery (left anterior descending coronary artery) from the apex toward the base of the heart, where it terminates in the great cardiac vein.
