Fasciculi collaterales conjunctivi

Definition

The conjoint lateral bands are formed by the union of the interosseous lateral bands (formed by interossei and lumbrical tendons) and the lateral slips of the tendon of extensor digitorum communis (EDC) and converge to form a single terminal extensor tendon that inserts at the dorsal base of the distal phalanx.
